In 2014 the Lake Como has been ranked as the most beautiful lake in the world by the online newspaper "The Huffington Post"; We just have to see for yourself :)

The Lake Como area has a great variety of landscapes dotted with settlements and towns that are a testimony of human creativity: splendid villas immersed in centuries-old parks, architectural examples of extraordinary artistic and religious value, archaeological findings and ancient settlements, fortifications and castles. Historic and cultural treasures are kept in a variety of museums.

Dongo:  

This little city lives on the northwestern shore of Lake Como between Gravedona and Musso at the mouth of the Albano.End Dongo is the place where Benito Mussolini and the fascist ministers of the RSI (Italian Social Republic) were captured on 27th April 1945.They were all taken to the Town Hall, in Palazzo Manzi, in order to formalize the arrest. Only a few days before, the Golden Room (the hall of honour of Palazzo Manzi) was arranged as mortuary for the bodies of the partisans slain by the fascist brigades. 

The palace was therefore the stage of momentous historic events and is now the evocative and ideal setting for their commemoration in a museum.
